Bangkok is huge – about 11 million people live here. Modern skyscrapers and buildings of luxury hotels coexist on its streets with ancient temples, palaces and traditional Asian markets.
The most interesting tourist areas of the city: Rattanakosin Island (the historical center of Bangkok), Chinatown (shopping district), Pratunam (tourist area, where most of the affordable hotels are concentrated).
For shopping, we advise you to visit Siam Square, where there are boutiques and shopping centers. Of the most interesting markets are Chatuchak on Phaholyothin Street (open on weekends) and the floating bazaar, which is moored in the Taling Chan area. Feel free to bargain wherever there are no fixed prices!
We advise you to visit at least one restaurant that serves traditional Thai cuisine. In Bangkok, you will find both expensive establishments with a strict dress code, located on the upper floors of skyscrapers, and small restaurants with inexpensive food, where local residents dine. Especially interesting are floating restaurants, where you can simultaneously satisfy your hunger and go on a cruise along the river.
